SS13 Launch- Florence Pitti Uomo

11th September 2013
Mark / Giusti celebrated the launch of their Spring/Summer 2013 collections at the Pitti Uomo 82. This exhibition was held at the biannual trade show Pitti Uomo in Florence, Italy. The event is known as the most important international platform for launching men’s clothing and accessories collections because it is the place where next season’s trends are discovered.

At this event we featured four collections, so that buyers were able to get a sense of what the Mark / Giusti brand is all about. We featured the Gatsby Collection, the Bring Back Time Collection, the Palatina Collection, and the Romanza Collection.

We featured the Gatsby Collection in Florence. This collection was inspired by F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic American novel The Great Gatsby, which explores the life of luxury through elaborate costumes for women and perfectly tailored suits for men of the “Roaring 20s”. The key colors in this collection include a palette of fresh white, black, and burgundy, all of which are featured in the mosaic lining of the Gatsby Collection. In this collection we expanded our product offering to include bow ties, ties, and pocket squares made exclusively of our sateen mosaic lining.

The Bring Back Time Collection is all about timeless leather pieces. These leather products only come in either black or hunter green. This was the first collection Mark / Giusti launched back in June 2010. This collection was all about creating a perfect union between function, design, and art. It was the time for the Mark / Giusti brand to set the tone and creative direction for the rest of our collections.

The colorful Romanza Collection was inspired by Mark Farhat’s, the creative director of Mark / Giusti, last trip to Rome, Italy. “Rome is the perfect city for a romance. There is something that makes you fall in love with it.” The interior lining of the Romanza collection is a mosaic interpretation of the Basillica di San Lorenzo Fuori Le Mura (The Papal Basillica of Saint Lawrence outside the Walls).

The fourth collection we featured at Pitti Uomo 82 was the Palatina Collection. The inspiration for the products and for the interior lining comes from The Capella Palatina, built by Roger II located in Sicily. This chapel is adorned in beautiful Norman-byzantine mosaics, which caught the eyes of Farhat because the houses and the area exemplify Arab-Norman art. The Palatine collection is filled with dark orange and black and its products are effortlessly practical.

All of the collections featured at Pitti Uomo 82 are available for purchase on our online boutique.
