Arabesque SS 2015 Collection

The SS 2015 “Arabesque” collection is inspired by the mosaics decorations found in the Alhambra Palace and fortress in Granda , Spain which contains some of the finest decorations and “Arabesque” art of that era. The decorations within the palaces typified the remains of Moorish dominion within Spain and ushered in the last great period of Andalusian art in Granada. It was originally constructed as a small fortress in 889 and then largely ignored until its ruins were renovated and rebuilt in the mid 11th century by the Moorish King Mohammed Ben Al-Ahmar of the Kingdom of Granada, who built its current palace and walls. It was converted into a royal palace in 1333.

Moorish poets described it as "a pearl set in emeralds," an allusion to the colour of its buildings and the woods around them. The “Arabesque” collection includes a mix of Casual and classical pieces that comprise of an extended luggage range from the “Jet Set” Line which proved to be very successful over the years. It also includes weekend bags, business bags and small accessories and neckwear. The colors for the collection are bright and fresh thus reflecting the colors of the Spanish Summer. They include lemon yellow, Pistachio green, Aqua Blue and a Deep Blue Sea Turquoise.

The primary leather for this collection is a grained Tuscan calf leather. Farhat has used his signature mosaic patterns on the outside leather of MARK / GIUSTI accessories. The patterns were printed on Python skin and eel skin emphasizing the brand’s love for mosaic art and architecture.

The result is timeless, elegant and fresh.
