HOLIDAY NOTE FROM MARK

There is something about this time of year that always pulls me back to the deepest parts of myself, to childhood memories filled with lights, warmth, and that quiet sense of anticipation. Whether you celebrate Christmas, another tradition, or simply enjoy these final weeks as a moment of rest and reflection, this season has a remarkable way of softening time. The city glows differently. People reconnect and open their hearts a little more.

At The House of MARK / GIUSTI, I try to carry this spirit into every corner of our space. The decorations, the scents, the candles, the music - all chosen with intention. Beauty, to me, should never be loud; it should whisper. It should welcome you in, make you feel held, inspired, and seen. This season is not just an aesthetic moment; it is a ritual of gratitude. A chance to honour the people who walk beside us throughout the year: our clients, friends, artisans, collaborators, and the community that gives life to MARK / GIUSTI.

I often think back to moments with my sister,  how she created a sense of belonging with small gestures: a candle, a bowl of oranges, a mosaic cushion, a warm smile. Only now do I realise how these little rituals shaped the designer and creative I would become. Today, our seasonal set-up and Holiday Shop at Casa Giusti is a dialogue between tradition and modernity: warm tones, mosaic details, soft lighting, and the understated elegance of Italian craftsmanship.

But above all, this time of year brings me back to the art of giving in its most human form. Growing up, gifts were never about extravagance; they were about intention. Something chosen with care. Something that held a story. Something that quietly said, “I thought of you” — not only during the holidays, but throughout the year.

Gifting has always been part of my culture — a way of expressing love, respect, gratitude, or simply offering a moment of thoughtfulness.
